Blue Tuesdays is a four-piece contemporary / jazz group, featuring the mellow tones of a tenor saxophone and vocals for melodies, drums, piano and guitar / bass.
Starting way back in 2018 when we were all still in high school, and prior to the pandemic, Jack, our saxophonist, wrangled each member onto stage during a school fundraiser for an impromptu performance. An hour-long jam session followed that planted the seeds for a band to come. Since then, we have performed at Galas in Melbourne to fundraisers in Flinders, yet we take each opportunity to play for our audience just as much as to each other.

A blend of covers and original pieces, Blue Tuesdays includes a mix of contemporary styles, crossing several genres to create our unique sound with both passion and professionalism. We play a mixture of jazz standards, contemporary ballads, pop, and classic rock.

The plethora of social restrictions, lockdowns and density limits over the past few years has affected everybody differently. For us personally, it suppressed our ability to express ourselves musically, for which, as musicians, is imperative. As such we treat every opportunity to perform like it may be our last, bringing high energy and soulful, lyrical playing to our performances.
