STORY PEOPLE is a story sharing morning tea and performed reading event. In 24 hours, stories on the theme ‘Strange’, are edited and presented by an intergenerational cast.

Popular Peninsula event STORY PEOPLE invites up to 25 female identifying folk, of all ages and abilities, to a morning tea, from 10am -12pm on Saturday 22nd April. Participants are invited to share their stories, whether tall or true, in response to the prompt ‘Strange’, in a safe and supported space, at the Southern Peninsula Arts Centre.
Registration is essential, via the try booking link - https://www.trybooking.com/events/landing?eid=1027215&
In preceding months, other people will respond to the prompt in writing, texts, street chats and informal interviews.
Overnight, lead artists Carole Patullo, Jane Bayly and Melanie Beddie will transcribe and edit a range of stories gathered into a script. The script will then be performed at a reading the following day (Sunday 23rd April at 5.00pm - 6.30pm), by an intergenerational cast of Dreamhouse Theatre Company members and friends. Bookings for the performed reading at SPAC are available on trybooking. https://www.trybooking.com/events/landing?eid=1027215& or at the door.
This is an inclusive event, $10 or pay what you can. First nations people and those experiencing disadvantage are welcome without charge.
