Writer in the Window: Between the Lines pays homage to the stories that make a community.
Part writer in residence, community confessional, and living art installation, Between the Lines / Writer in the Window examines and writes the stories of people and place through the art of micro fiction.
Award-winning author Andrea Rowe will write from her desk in the window of Antipodes Bookstore, developing a series of flash fiction stories inspired by conversations with Mornington Peninsula residents.
Microfiction, or flash fiction, is the art of stories written to a tight word count, exploring the nature of the world and the human experience in it.
This is a partnership event with Antipodes Bookstore, Sorrento.
While in residency in the window, Andrea will invite the public to sit beside her and share their story, or insights into local history and happenings. Andrea will draw on these conversations to inspire and produce a collection of micro-stories celebrating the Mornington Peninsula.
These tiny stories will be curated in partnership with Antipodes Bookshop, and featured daily in the lead-up to the Sorrento Writers Festival which launches at Drift concludes.
